got soap spots on my antique copper faucets. It looks like white or dried soap spots.?

When I wet it it seems to disappear but it dries with white spots.They were in a new modular home so that gives you the idea they are cheap but they all match through out the house. Please help me with this. I know I cannot use anything harsh?????
They are not calcium spots I have only had them a few weeks brand new came with home has to be soap spots.
As I was cleaning faucets they appeared as the soap and water was splashed while I was cleaning laboratory with Mr Clean Eraseable sponge.They are spots because before I cleaned there were none.
